Looks like you forgot the 's in Admiral's Edition

EDIT: OOOPs - my bad. The .exe does not have the 's in the name.

No, I think that is O.K.

I can't see the entire line but it looks like he needs a space before the -w

Many thanks. That did the trick

Now for the resolution. Would like to get a widescreen without any distortion on my 24" widescreen.

This is what I like.

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -cpu2 -multiaudio -px1680 -py1050 -altFont -skipVideo -dd_sw -archive

I run the beta in full screen.

I like 1680, 1050 even though I can run at a higher resolution.

What you want is nice round range rings and this works for me.

I have an i5 8mb Win10 Radeon 6770 machine. Map looks OK!

My current setting are -fd -multiaudio -px1680 -py1050 -skipVideo -archive

Do I need a processor switch? Because ATM it is so slow as to be unplayable!

clicking on a hex has a 3-5 second delay! Thats is a long time!
Exiting a screen is the same.
Blured text in popup screens.

-dd_sw switch usually helps with that.

Make sure your drivers are up to date.
Look in your game folder and open the "What's New" PDF.
Read up of switches and what they do.

cpu2 is a processor switch.

Also try adding -deepColor to your line.

-deepColor : Enables 32 bit color, intended for Full Screen mode

Two things come to mind, I had pretty terrible issues that were similar to this until I set the game up to run on a single CPU and set up software draw.

I'd definitely enable those switches. In fact, I'm surprised that anyone playing this game on a multi-core/threaded CPU--which should be everyone these days--doesn't, at least, have single CPU orders on.

Edit

I also enabled the alt font, but that's really a aesthetic preference.
Playing at war is a far better vocation than making people fight in them.

That could well mean its 20 more years to GO (or about 4-5 full length PBEMs with turn a day!). Hell of a fun, to say!

Sounds like you are trying to run it from Windows Explorer.
You need to run it from the game:
Start the game normally and at the main menu choose "load saved game"
Find the Autosave in slot 000 or 001, click it and choose "load" - et voilà

WitpTracker is just a big database. The biggest problem may be setting up Tracker. Once you get it to run, you should have little problem using it.
