F3 vs F6 CAP fuel efficiency?

Post by ColonelMolerat »

I was just wondering - the F6 has a larger fuel tank than the F3A (and, correspondingly a larger 'ferry' distance - 1800nm vs 1350). The F6 also uses less fuel per minute than the F3A (at 36,000ft loiter at least). However, it's got a shorter CAP range (15 minutes at 350nm vs 370nm from the F3A).

What causes this? Is it a difference in performance in some metric I've missed out?

(Or could it be a database error? I'm using the CWDB Build 439, in Command 1.10 Build 775.17, mission Fox Two from Northern Inferno. If so, never mind, sorry!)

The CAP range depends mainly on the loadout. What are the loadouts for the respective a/c? for example the CAP loadout for the F3A could include more external fuel and less munitions.

Sorry, I should have clarified - both using the AA Red Top loadout, or both using the AA Firestreak loadout.

Both loadouts are the same for each type of plane (2x their respective AA missiles).

Cheers! Sorry, the field of modern war is so complex sometimes I can't tell if it's a bug or working as intended.
