My understanding is

1. All the air bases have the same TOE

2. All the air bases can be equipped with any type of aircraft though VVS (Very Very Special) and OSNAZ can perform partisan supply

3. SADs start to auto disband from Feb 1942

Is the above correct and does anyone have a strategy to cope with SAD disbanding?

Thx

Hi, we build our own airbases and groups now. Starts in fall '41. Select a urban/light urban or adjacent hex then go to build unit icon at the top of map.

Yes and they cost 1 admin point to create.

So why would you create an IAD base as opposed to a Shad, Bad or NBad? All have the same TOE and can fly the same aircraft?

All the same, except VVS/Osnaz as you have said.

Seems there's some "eye candy" in some of game's details, i.e., names for names' sakes, not for names' effects. No problems w/all that, but still waiting for camouflage options, etc. (But maybe there's hidden effects that are difficult to winkle out.)

"Why" lies in the mind of Lord Grigsby. (That's a respectful title, BTW.)

Perhaps irl there was no difference among an iad airbase and a bad one, except for the aircraft they were home to, and it was just a different name to know what the aircraft in a particular base were without further info needed. Anybody knows?
