OT, WWII construction Equipment

Post by jakla1027 »

Hello guys,

I was wondering if anyone on the forums knows of any good websites or books that cover the types of construction equipment used by the US military during WWII.

"The American Arsenal: The WW2 Official Standard Ordnance Catalogue" reprint, 2014, Frontline Books

I got my copy from Amazon US, you might find the 2001 version from Greenhill Books (2001), UK, from Amazon UK.

The first of four Sections covers 'Tanks and Automotive' which includes Service trucks, Trailers, Maintenance and Recovery trucks, Fording Equipment, Trucks etc.

Seabee Museum ...

Which is at Port Hueneme, California, Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC)

Tractors/Bulldozers ...

There are a number of training films on YouTube, the following one on Expedient Road construction (the second part plays automatically at the end of the first) ...

Hope that helps.
