MGK-520 Skat-BDRM evolution against various targets

Post by Triode »

MGK-520 Skat-BDRM is sonar system from project 667BDRM subs ,last anlog GAK(gidro-accoustik complex) ,
MGK-540 as example first digital GAK for soviet/russian submarines

One of system in this GAK ,"Delta", made by JSC NPP "Soyuz"
"Delta" is analize information from Skat-BDRM and TASS Pelamida to find range, speed, dept and course of target
and achieve auto-tracking
and with 667BDRM dont have flank sonar array this is really hard job

So, from JSC NPP "Soyuz" with love [:)]

1990-1991 Trials of MGK-520 and "Delta-P"

vs project 671RTM sub
Image
upper three pictures Norway Sea 1990-91 ,winter ,GAK in active mode
speed 5kts ,depth 80m , range to target 3,7nm autotracking achieved
lower three Greenland Sea GAK in active
speed 2,5-3kts, depth 144-152m ,range to target 5,4-8,2nm autotracking achieved

vs project 945 submarine ,Barents Sea GAK in passive mode
Image
1) 13,9kts ,depth 160m , range to target 5,3nm autotracking achieved
2) 1,9kts ,depth 52m , range to target 0,7nm autotracking achieved

vs project 971 only detection without autotracking 23.10.2004
Image
tracking channel off ,GAK passive, according to JSK NPP"Soyuz" pr.971 speed is near 5kts and range 1,6-2 nm

after that came upgraded MGK-520.6 with "Delta-PM1" vs " unknown, 7-bladed " submarines (who say LA-class?[:D])in Barents Sea 2010

Image
target speed 4,1-4,7 , range to target 2,4-4,9nm autotracking on

Image
range to target 4,3nm autotracking on

Image
and here is interesting thing ,initial detection of "7-bladed" in 0.33
autotracking by TASS Pelemida in 0.47 autotracking by bow sonar in 01.01
target speed 6,6kts, depth 48m range to target 3,1nm
also there is some surface target autotracked at 15,3nm

Image
target speed 6,0kts ,depth 51m ,range 5,4nm autotracking on

Interesting things , it seems project 971 (more like so called Improved Akula, since this is Northern Fleet in 2004 )is quieter than "unknown intruders of Brents Sea" (LA-class? Improved LA? who know)

also in game model of MGK-520 vs LA-class submarines fit MGK-520.6 vs "unknown intruders of Brents Sea"

project 971 and 945 in examples from NPP "Soyuz" quieter than in game database

active hydrolocation by MGK-520 against 671RTM in game also more effective than in real life

generally speaking , if we disregad local conditions , it looks like high end Soviet/Russian submarines in
database (945,971 improved Akula) more noisy than in this MGK-520 testing

maybe it is just local conditions , but from other hand LosAngeleles-class vs MGK-520 in game almoust like
in this screenshots from NPP"Soyuz"

anyway what people think about this?
