Is there any way to slow down the messages in the bottom left that are flashing by in each phase. I thought I saw a message flash about planes grounded due to weather or similar, is that level of detail anywhere else or is there a way to slow down these messages. Seems like some useful information. I set the delays in the options to highest but it did not impact the bottom left phase messages window. Thanks

Yes, from the main menu you can set how long a message is displayed under the preferences heading.

Alternatively the latest Tracker can provide this after you have run the turn.

If you are playing a PBEM game then the speed is set by the Japanese players settings. While the replay is running hit ctrl-S to increase message delay and ctrl-d to decrease delay. You may need to do it a few times- it doesn't work during the initial stages of the replay and you should see a popup each time it accepts the command saying message delay increased to xxx or decreased to xxx

I set all the delays to either 3.1 or 3.0 seconds but the messages in the bottom left just scroll through way to fast to read, especially on the air phase. Roger will try the latest tracker, I was not sure what it did but so far have found combat reporter useful. Thanks guys.

You have to set the delays from an orders phase using the Preferences tab on the tool bar. If you do that as the Allied player your settings are put into the save file and remain as you set them thereafter. If you set them in the front end with the toggles it won't "take." Don't ask me how I know this.

I don't like the bottom left much. It provides much useful information, but is impossible to scroll back through it while running the turn. Also, unless I'm mistaken, you can't access the "Combat Events" text that this information is stored in when within the orders phase. You need to open the CombatEvents.txt file for the relevant turn, which will show you all of the things from the bottom left textbox that show up during the replay. It has been alleged that Tracker shows you this info, but I don't know where.

The latest version of Tracker does this if you ask it to, though you have to tell it where the file is to load it into Tracker. On the Turn tab it now has new options to load 'things'... Once you have pointed to the relevant Ops file it will load it into the records on Tracker. To find the information go to Intel and open the Operations tab....

During the combat replay (turn resolution)you can pause the game by using [ctrl][p].

At the right side of the message box is a scroll bar.
The scroll bar will work when the game is paused.
You can also use the mouse wheel

Some of the info will get scrubbed but it is the combat events that are important.

Also,I recommend Tracker and Combat Reporter.
You can run them both at the same time.

Ah. My version isn't updated. I wasn't aware it had been updated, actually. I don't have the "read operations file" stuff.

I'm still not convinced that it displays the CombatEvents.txt, until I see it. This stuff:

No, it does not display the CombatEvents.txt items, but a good number of them are also duplicated in the operationsreport.txt files.
