One other thing...does the game define, graphically, the border between Austria and Bavaria? I assume it is represented by city control...but it would be nice if the map showed the border.

nice idea! afaik, the game doesn't have an interactive borderline...
i could draw a fixed border for visible state-lines of the period but which year(s) should i use?
right now, i'm looking at a map from 1815(1816) with everything i'd need but that's a little 'late', right?

have a look:

Map of the Central States of Europe Situate between France and Russia

cheers!

Nice Map!...certainly the game has to define it...invasion triggers DOW in the game...Perhaps the designer will answer. I know he is active here now and again.

here's an update of the map modification 'fresh map' for danube campaigns.

Strategic (overview) Map

what's new:

- mountains for all maps (clear, mud and strategic);
- better strategic (overview) map - check image above;
- frank's convention for town-names;
- fixed the IGLAU banner;
- optional (version B )maps and banners, you'll find the files in the 'Banners' and 'Maps' folder - just replace the files to your liking...

what's not new, yet:

- the counters still need some tweaking, anyhow the 'old but fresh' counterset is included.

don't forget to make a backup before modding your vanilla files!

---> download the maps, counters, banners and optional files here <---

quote:

the counters go here: C:\Matrix Games\Campaigns on the Danube 1805 & 1809\graphics\counters
the maps go here: C:\Matrix Games\Campaigns on the Danube 1805 & 1809\graphics\Maps
and the banners here: C:\Matrix Games\Campaigns on the Danube 1805 & 1809\graphics\Banners

have fun!

Downloaded, installed. Lookin' sweet!

Resizing the counters downward by, say, 10% -- would that work? Now, things are a bit cramped.

Because of counter stacking, I don't imagine that a simple downsizing (by 10%) of the counter graphics would work. Adjustments to the code would also be needed, most likely.

Rasputitsa had a nice idea for modding the counters to make things a little better to see(e.g. less cramped):
right now, corps have red and armies have yellow counter-edges -
he found that making the guard, cavalry and hospital a different color makes them stand out more easily.

maybe i could implement this in the 'fresh counter mix' - what do you AND others think?

hi there! (... sorry, but this will be x-posted on a few of my and some other folks artwork threads.)

just wanted everybody interested to know beforehand I'm going to pull the plug on my web-space, sooner than later...
means, if you're up for a download session to save my map artwork for later use - do it now! i won't host again.

thanks for all the help and kind words over the last few years.

all rights on my artwork, as far as myself concerned, is free for grabs - feel free to host the stuff someplace else.

cheers!

Thanks, this is some of the best artwork ever, transforming CoTD and PFE, I will have it backed up on my HDD, as I wouldn't play without it.
