Fleet Construction bug?

Fleet Construction bug?

I had run into this one a few years back and my workaround was to just not do it, heh, but recently I ran into it again.

Details of what I had noticed;
1. Order 6 Cruisers to be built.
2. While the unbuilt ships were still in queue I grouped them into a Fleet. (Fleet 14 in that particular game)
3. 5 CA's were assigned to the Home system that had plenty of open yards, 1 was assigned to a world half way across the galaxy.
4. The 5 in the Home system finished building the distant one wasn't done.
5. Pirate intrusion in the home system and auto response of defensive fleets sent the 5 CA's of TF14 to chase them down.
6. From that point on the 6th CA would refuse all fleet orders. If I ordered the fleet to refuel, repair, attack, it would just sit there where it was built. I had to disband the fleet and reform it to get all 6 ships to run together.

Anyone seen something similar?

Hmmm... that's not something I've seen (or not realized it). I too select ships while they're under construction & assign them to a fleet.

The thing that happens to me constantly is that the one 1/2 way across the galaxy is sent to join its brothers and runs out of fuel... and from there the fleet refuses to behave properly (because one of its member is way out in boonsville with no fuel).

Can't get it to move to its base of operations, can't get it to load troops, etc. Not sure if that's the same thing, or separate issue...

It sounds like an ancient bug where ships under construction could take off and become floating, incomplete relics. I have not seen it for ages, though, so I would guess it has been fixed.

Is the "non obedient" ship fully constructed? It sounds like it cured itself, though.

Hmm, good point about the construction, I had 'thought' it was finished but never checked.
