Got the iPad version for $20. Thinking about a pc version for bigger display. Price of pc version is double. Why? What justifies the higher price? Is there more content? Better GUI? What? Not complaining. Just wantin' to know. For heaven's sake, an inquiry about getting both versions must tell you something about this fantastic game. Well done.

The market. Mobile market is simply a different beast. Twenty clams is super high price for the iOS market (worth it, I have it on my iPad as well), so they can't sell it at twice that there. The PC market can sustained, and is used to sustaining, higher prices, so it makes little sense to lower the price there to the mobile price. Eventually the prices may converge, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yes, I know. Still doesn't tell me why. This is the first game I have on my iPad truly worth more than what I paid for it. I have all of Shenandoah Studio's stuff and each offering is worth what i paid for it. They were designed only for the iPad. Clearly Pike and Shot is worth a whole bunch more. Kinda sad Apple is acting like the Godfather here and companies like Slitherine can't get what their proucts are truly worth. Unless it is a numbers thing. Probably so. Whatever. It is what it is. Good thing I am not in the marketing business. Carry on...

I hear you. Though I must say, I'm happy to get a game like this for this price.

I have it in both versions, pc and iPad. Totally worth it. I can play 'big' screen or when traveling.
Some interface and mostly same commands.

I suppose the way I would look at it is the PC version has a scenario creator (I think, right?) and the iPad version does not, so the price difference is somewhat justified in this way as well. IMHO, I would never want to go thru the process of designing a scenario on an iPad, so I support this decision. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPad, but it is a much better platform for viewing than for creating.

I own the PC version. It actually uses more detailed 3d objects and textures than the iPad. Plus mods can be developed in the PC platform first then releases and packaged so that iPad version can use it. I haven't heard anyone modding with just the iPad version (maybe I'm wrong). Also applicable to more detailed scenario editing and scripting.
