GD1938 GAME 16
Does anyone know where the next turn is there is no turn in the Dropbox. Last recorded event was a edit of the USA file.

RE: GD1938 GAME 16
Is that our new game? I put the China turn in the other day and now it is gone.

I am sure you did, when I download a file I just get a copy in my download files, the original stays in the Dropbox file. I don't have Dropbox running on my PC, its just another process my CPU could do without. My Guess is the Chinese player has played the Chinese turn but has not yet returned the German turn to Dropbox.

Sorry, my bad. Too much wine when playing the turn. However Germany should be good to go now.

Birds of a feather.....lol
RE: GD1938 GAME 16
Well, I can say playing the USA early in the war can be BORING....all I do is gather Political Points to increase my abilities to fight later. No agreements with anyone...so I can build up my capabilities. Let's see....60 points every turn to up the odds of being able to do more...leaving about 60 more points to increase production (it cost 450 points to increase production from 80 to 100%) so it will be several more turns before I reach 100%. Of course I could give up some turns of end isolationist card use to increase production...but...another 350 points to increase "occupied" territory but I don't have enough occupied territory to make that expenditure worth while--unless lots of small cities in South America join me and that lowers the chances to end isolatism.

The Soviet German pact is a shining example of what two great nations can achieve when they work together.

True, your ability to do much fighting is very reduced. All you can do is watch, wait and prepare. That is why it is usually recommended that the US-player plays China as well. Some games solve the inability of the US to intervene early in games that try to represent the 2nd World War, by simply letting that regime "SLEEP", until it is time for them to intervene. That is to be completely inactive and unable to produce anything, or even move units, until someone triggers their intervention.
In a way you can count yourself lucky this option was not chosen. At least you get to do some preparation this way... And get a chance to join the fray earlier... Also once apon a time the US had to pay 75 PPs for each attempt at waking. At least now it costs 60 PP. Of course earlier they had the 100% production too, from the beginning...

Don't know why he is complaining he is not the US I am. LOL. My problem is do I spend the pp on chance to activate or boost my economy. Last Time I boosted my economy by the time I got in the war was over and we lost.

Ops. I play the USA in Game 15 not 16. Sorry about that.

The Baltic States were assimilated into the great Soviet, no footholds of the old imperialist regimes now exist.

I see that it is Cpdeyoung that has played the turn...
Which means that he has probably been using the hotfix, that Vic has made. This may be a bug, or you might not be using the hotfix, or a number of other things.
Honestly I´ve only had files being that big, when i tried to copy them while the save was in progress... which might be what happened also.

RE: GD1938 GAME 16
I tried to load it, and i got to the password screen, with no trouble... using the ATG version 220c. So when does the game say you cannot load it?
EDIT: Also tried with ATG version 220e, no troubles getting to the login screen.

When I tried to open it it said it was bugged then it let me get to the log in screen and gave me an exception error. Are we using the hotfix?

Played turn of France and Britain in game 15, after hotfix was installed. No problems to open the turns, no bugs, file size as usual (1.3 kB).
What happens if you try to load the previous turn?

RE: GD1938 GAME 16
This may be stupid, or it may just be the reason why you had the error.
Did you open the file while it was in the dropbox folder? Cause that might cause the error... I think.
I always copy the file, into a non-dropbox area, and then open it. Maybe you could try that?
