Fixed number of regional capitals

Hi,

I have a mod in which I have added a few more regional capitals. The files Facilities and Reseach have been modified accordingly.

My problem is this : once I have built 3 regional capitals, even if I research a fourth regional capital, I cannot build it.

Is there a hard-coded limit of 3 regional capitals built ?

Sadly, I'm pretty sure that development and bug fixing for this game has come to an end.

The problem here is that yes, the number of regional capitols is hard-coded and cannot be changed.

If they wanted to do it right, the number would be based off map size. 3 should be the limit for average maps - larger maps should allow for more.

Hi ArchMike

There is no hard-coded limit for regional capitals.

Simply make sure that you have more than 3 regional capitals in your modded facilities.txt and research.txt files.

Upon reading your answer, I checked my mod. My fourth regional capital was faulty in my mod. After researching fifth and sixth regional capitals, I was able to build them.

Elliot has taken the time to answer this thread, even though the problem was in the mod and not in the game.

Distant Worlds has received expansions over the years and several patches since the release of Universe. I'm certainly appreciative of the work done here.

In all likelihood, Distant Worlds 2 will eventually replace the original game and be even better. So let's relax a bit...

But there is nothing about DW2, Staff say somthing about this around year ago - They try and see did they manage to do DW2 - and nothing more to this date. So i'm wonder how's Code Force going, meybe they need fresh blood or somthing.
