***********Bow of USS Yorktown, 07:30, August 8, 1942(e)*********

Adm Halsey: <with megaphone> ICEBERG RIGHT AHEAD!

Why does this sound ominous?

it's a Trojan iceberg.

Trojan? I thought they made prophylactics ...

Now Lancelot, Arthur, and Sir Robin leap out of the iceberg, taking the HOA completely by surprise.

It's only 1942, great achievement if it goes off as plan. Any chance it could be a trap?

I really like the idea, but disagree with the locations. I'd isolate Ambon and neutralize it later. Boela-Sorong-Moluccas-Mindanao is more mutually supporting and gets the vittles up just as well. You can reinforce the Celebes and cut off the Molucca strait with a simple left hook once established.

Morotai is an awesome base for this purpose. Check it out.

Young Zorch has correctly identified the chief risk.

We do have to have a strong fix on the KB before we round the corner near Timor

Me too. Try Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagasaki, and Shanghai. They'll never expect it.

***********Cultural Appropriation Alert!**********

So we have our company "Holiday Party" and the staff mainly lead the planning...the doctors are just invited to pay for it. It used to be the DJ would start with Michael Jackson or Beyoncé or something....but the staff is becoming increasingly Hispanic as is all of California...so he start off..."ah--ahaaaah---aahaahh"...wait that's Chrissy Hybde from the Pretenders..it's "Chain Gang"...cool...but where is the music....<salsa rhythm starts...then Spanish lyrics>...it's just sampled.

Here are the actual lyrics (translated)

I found a picture of Pancho Villa, Aaaltaaah Calfiornia
What hijacked our world that night
To a place in the past
We've been cast out of? Aaaltaaah Calfiornia
Now we're back in the fight
We're back to El Norte
Oh, back on Sepulveda

Of course, you would have to say The Pretenders stole the lyric and the vocal rhythm from Sam Cooke.

I'm still mad at Chrissy for dumping Ray Davies.

That isn't Chrissy Hynde is it? Funny picture in any event. I had a picture of 6 mariachis in a row at In and Out eating fries and burgers and now I can't find it.

I used to think that the failure of the Greek economy was due to the unproductive government sector and early retirement...now I realize it's the food.

I had about 4 tablespoons of humus at lunch and I have spent the rest of the afternoon outside. Plus, when I come back in I can hardly concentrate because I have to cinch down all the time. Can you imagine having a business meeting in the afternoon in Greece?

You think Greek food is bad for work? Try eating Indian with saffron rice.

It's the chickpeas. If God had wanted mankind to eat them he would have given use a proper enzyme.

No, I'm serious. From space you can still see a 2 mile swath of greener trees and bushes where Alexander's army marched to India

Alexander: I've thought of another question to ask the Oracle of Apollo at Delphi. Why do goat rectums come in packs of 10, and goat rectum buns in packs of 8?
