Play US side for a challenge. You have to really think about anti-tank tactics, I have won the campaign on allies with everything equal historical settings.

The battles are mostly historical, and thus rarely will they be perfectly balanced. If you are looking for a challenge in the campaign game, play the historical campaign as the Germans, with yourself on the most difficult setting and the AI on the easiest.
