How to find system by name?

Post by Nikratio »

Hi,

Is there a way to find a system by name, i.e. without having to scour through the map for it?

For example, my diplomacy window tells me that there's a pirate base in "Gulrath 4 (Gulrath system)". How do I find that on the map? Unfortunately clicking on the name doesn't do anything...

Thanks!

If you are lucky you are allowed to put a mine in the system and it shows up in the resource lists of the expansion planner. Which can be sorted by name.

I can't think of a better and more reliable way.

In the main view lower right is a galaxy map button. In the galaxy map use the drop down to select pirate bases in the view in yellow. Click on the yellow dots till you find the system you want...

I have to laugh that the answer of how to find something came from Jeeves. A system find tool would be a valuable addition in a 1400 star game, IMO.

Even EU4 has a "find province by name" function, right?

I assume you have a colony (or mining base) in the system. If that's the case, use the ship list and filter by spaceport or mining stations.

If you don't have any assets in the system then maybe use the expansion planner -> Potential colony -> show low quality?

It would be nice if clicking on the event (log, popup or whatever) would take you to the appropriate system. But such is not the case for locations of abandoned ships.

As it stands, clicking on event popups or logs is random as to where it takes you. Blew up a base and got swag? Random system. Same for many other events.
