MP etiquette

Post by AEWHistory »

Okay, seeing as I haven't played MP yet my question may be simply invalid, but here goes. When I play single player, if I make a mistake I simply reload my turn, redo my moves as best I can remember up until my mistake and then try not to do anything else stupid (I am not always successful.... ). However, I would think even if one can do this in MP it would be frowned upon for a number of reasons. So I am wondering if I should be boning up on playing without any benefit of fixing mistakes before playing MP or is it okay to restart a turn once screwed up? I'm assuming you have to stick with your turn, warts and all, but I figured I'd ask.... Thanks for any replies.

While I haven't played MP with this particular game, I've found that with either MP or even 2-hand PBEM, the game software writes your turn completion "somewhere" and makes it impossible to reload for a "do over".

But your conjecture is correct, it's not considered good practice.

Tomokatu is spot on! There has not been a lot said in AARs about making a not too bright move or an out right blunder because of slipping up on the keyboard. Yes, it was correctable in SP, not so in MP. Even the best players make out and out mistakes, often times they will let you know they did, with the in game chat. If you are paying attention, you can quite often pick up on these on map screw ups (the other guy is usually holding his breath you don't notice). With all the various mistakes I have made in MP "none" (some really hurt) have made it a game ender, I do caution on making keyboard/mouse mental mistakes, try and stay focused.
