Ship size seems no differenct.
this race is Quamano
Left ship in picture is capital ship. this ship size is 630~666(I don't remember exactly.)
next ship(on the rihgt capital ship) is Cruiser. and size 520~530.
next Destroyer. size 412.
and next Carrier size 712.

The Meanwhile, I have thought that image size rise in proportion to the increase ship size.
why is that?

the option to scale the image is in the design screen, you can set the ratio to your liking.

well.. I don't want setting scail in disign.
this setting is artificial.(I prefer auto design)

I just ask that why there is no difference.
and I seems know why is it.

Steam\SteamApps\common\Distant Worlds Universe\images\units\ships\family13
Quamano family ship images are on the path.

and that all ship images are too tiny.
capital ship pixel size is 190x190, while other familly ship image pixel sizes is more than 210.

and I have another quetions.
why is that?

Quamano just want to have small millitarty ships?
small millitary image just reflect game background setting?

I don't fiddle with that, but images are scaled by the game. Larger (in components) ships are bigger. And you can make an additional adjustment in the design screen.

I guess there is a scale factor in the design file or something, I have not messed with that.

ok, I can modify this ship setting through that way in DesignTemplate.
But, though I modify this value, DEFAULT game value don't change.(when install this game at the first time)
If actual Quamano ship size in game is wrong,
I can Point out this state.

This really bothers me too, it's hard to recognize the classes of ships in a fight without individually checking because they're all so similar.

If we go into the design and change the scale, will that change be maintained for future versions/designs of the same class? For example, if I change the scale of the 'Killer' class destroyer, will the automatically designed next generation 'Danger' class destroyer maintain the scale change?

And I guess there's no solution for AI factions' ships.. :/

I made a mod that increse quameno ship size through just modify design template.
If you modify design template, this ship scale is permanent.
This setting also apply when game just start.
Though upgrade your cruiser design, ship scale(I set 1.4)is always exist.
but, of course when you "copy as new" button, It's work Perfectly.
Otherwise "add new" button, don't work.

I think that actual ship image size is relevant a image file piexel.
so,while you use "add new" button and create ship design,
you can select different image that piexel size is higher than Quameno ship image.
