Game questions.
I don't own any of the versions of this game. If I buy, I'm not sure of what to play. I think that the Universe expansion has all the improvements in it. Why would I want to play any of the older expansions which are included? Are the improvements added to the previous expansions so you play them for a different story line?
Any thoughts about this would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Game questions.
they are a pack older version are included in universe you get all the goodies in one pack. you can pick in pre game setup what story's you want in said galaxy, for example you can turn the Sukrai off, pirates off monsters and so on.
It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

RE: Game questions.
Universe is everything wrapped into a single package.
The different "games" at this point are really just different game settings and time frames (story lines) since everything is running off the same game engine.
UI and game tweaks are all part of Universe - you definitely don't want to revert the UI, there are just too many improvements.

RE: Game questions.
Are you able to alter the game speed?
Thanks.
Thanks.
RE: Game questions.
Game speed is from pause (space) to 4X. See the top left buttons. I think you can make it slower as well, but I usually just pause a lot when things are busy.

And quarter speed. Unless I've had another brain fade, in which case, I'm going down the pub!

I always play on PreWarp now, haven't used the speed setting in moons, just pause. I think as you become used to playing the game you gradually stop using the speed settings, I normally set things up for the tech and builds, switch to another monitor and surf for a bit and keep an eye on things and alter accordingly till things kick in when the warp bubble goes into use.

RE: Game questions.
I'm playing pre-warp tutorial and this has happened to me many times. I'll have a construction ship next a planet etc. I give it a build order for that planet and the ship starts moving away toward my home colony. It has plenty of fuel. This mystifies me. Any thoughts about what causes this to happen and how to prevent it would be greatly appreciated.

I have not a clue to what you are replying to but the answer you seek is that the constructor needs to go and collect resources for the build you have ordered, it will go to the nearest point that has them, in your case, the home colony, and then return to build the item ordered. Only exception to this is when you ask one to repair a ship, it will respond immediately and repair the stricken vessel. If you order it to repair anything other than a ship it will proceed to the nearest point to collect the resources needed, the same as for a build order.

No. You have to clear the entire queue to delete anything unfortunately.

Thanks. I'm just starting a new game so there is very little in the queue. Where do I look to find where to delete?

RE: Game questions.
Thanks again, you are so very helpful. I did what you recommended but unfortunately I clicked on the queue research station button on the planet and I can't make that go away. As soon as I unqueue a ship the planet will grab another one.

Go into the construction screen.
Select the colony where the research station is in the queue.
Select the research station and then click delete to the right of the queue.
You wont get all the money back but you will delete the queued object.

What does Terraforming do? A search brought up zero posts.

RE: Game questions.
Sometimes a event like an earthquake or tsunami will damage the quality of one of your colony.
Bombardment will also damage the quality of a planet.
Planet quality will slowly raise up to max level by itself, but a terraforming building will help it go back to max faster.
