Skull Mountain or the Battle of Bone Field

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Skull Mountain or the Battle of Bone Field

Post by Mad Russian »

This one is tough. You should find the Battle for Skull Mountain if you look in the Soviet histories or you will find it referred to as The Battle of Bone Field in West German archives. Either way, this was a tough battle.

Coming to an update near you!! [:D]

Good Hunting.

This is the third battle of the Wolves Campaign. The Campaign has 10 scenarios. You are a stay behind unit. Your mission is to create havoc in the Soviet rear areas. You have a PG Bde at your command. What you will be doing mostly is attacking. You will defend only to protect your assets or to maintain freedom of movement.

Your marching orders will become active when the next patch is released. Speaking of patches, here is your unit patch!!

Prepare to march!

Good Hunting Commander.

Nice! In that case, I am even more more excited about the new patch. I hope it isn't out too soon, as I am a college student and it's my exam period right now! [:D]

Stay behind guerrilla's.....fantastic idea! Will this be part of the larger story so far (sneak attack in 1989) or part of a new time line?

This is part of the original storyline. Stay behind units are nothing new and were in fact a planned event. Just as this one is.

Good Hunting.

Ok, cool. I'm familiar with the idea of the stay behinds, it just seems that given the bolt out of the blue nature of the attack and the rapid advance of the Red Army that NATO would have to put these guys in their pre-positioned dugouts and hiding spots awfully quick. So I assumed that this would be part of a escalating tension war scenario.

Ever hear of the 'Gladio' scandal? NATO was supposedly coordinating with some really nasty people (read: Neo-Nazis) as part of the stay behinds. Ugly stuff... considering that the FRG was bound by it's constitution to arrest and suppress these people, not play footsy with them

I did it. Tough mission. I do not even know how to get to the 2000pts markers.
The Soviet artillery was pretty much violent
