auto sub ops not working

HI,

just wondering if anyone else had any probs since changing to windows 8.1

atm, primarily, im having graphics issues

and now, ive found out, even with sub ops on, when my subs are returning to port to replenish, they are just
disbanding and staying there.

anyone else having the same problem or an idea how to get them moving again,

I have tried running a few turns with sub ops off and restarting it but no go.

am running the beta patch in windows 8.1

I play against the AI (AI as Japan), and I have been having problems with it for (in real time) many years. For my side, I can solve it by creating a sub patrol and then changing it to computer control. However, the AI just lets it subs sit in ports until I attack the port, and then it will send out it's subs on missions (verified by monitoring Tracker for both sides). Maybe that is how it is planned for the AI to work, and maybe it is not. I certainly do not know, but have always felt that this could have been programmed a bit better. Enemy subs are generally not a threat once they return to port.

Don't use auto sub ops. It doesn't work well. Your best bet is to set them yourself. The only time i have had a manually controlled sub disband is when it has some damage. GP

to be fair, mine have been working perfectly, just returning to port to replenish or with damage

they have probably averaged 10 ships a month sent to the bottom but think I will have to run them as a concern rather than under auto ops, either that or ignore them totally and concentrate on the cv's
