Melee Strength?

Post by Michael T »

How could a German 2-6-4 Sq and a 3-14 MG equate to a melee strength of 9? Yes nine? They were in a stone building. Does Terrain add to melee strength?

Nope, should be 5, or 6 if you are on easier difficulty with the +1. Who were they fighting?

No it was Hard. I was Soviet with 3 x 1-4-4 sq plus a 1-7 MG plus a Leader. I should have done a screenie. I will pay close attention to the numbers from now on and report again with a screenie if it occurs again.

There is something wrong with melee. In this melee, screen shot attached (me German v AI Soviet), in the previous turn I had a odds of
3:2, correct in my understanding. And the game showed 3:2. Both sides survived unscathed. Next turn, same units I now have a 2:1, how does the
1-6-4 plus 2-9 MG = 4?

Then both sides were eliminated according to the results but my German squad remained on the board.

Either I don't understand the rules or it's screwed up.

EDIT: Hard setting.

If you were playing on normal, it would have been 2:1, but I don't see where it gave you that bonus point. No, your squad shouldn't have stayed on the board.

Which scenario is this? Do you happen to have a save from right before? (all the various impulses are in the /impulses directory of /saves). Thanks.

I don't think I will have a save, but will I check tonight.

The scenario is a custom version of the ASL Tracktor Works but it does not use any modded units. That is all units are stock.

Yes, there is a bug in melee. I'll attach a couple of screenshots. It might have something to do with multiple melees in the same game turn.

The first is a shot of before...

I also had a stack of Pioneers killed in melee that were resurrected the next turn after other units entered the hex and began picking up the weapons they left behind. I have no saves of this though.
