In what way?

Off board artillery affects the impact hex and the 6 hexes around it.

Is that what you mean?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

No, there isn't area fire (if you mean the ASL concept) in **most** of the game. There are three scenarios in the Russian Campaign that allow it, but that's because you are fighting a unique enemy.
