I am currently playing a game of Possum 5 with wir 3.1 as basis (to avoid the blizzard bug and overpowerful aircraft) and am finding it very interesting.
The Germans start weaker, still advance rapidly and and face masses of Russians. German Panzer numbers are lower and much more realistic.
The number of Russian reinforcements forces the Russians to constantly attack from August on which again is very realistic. German players face repeated onslaughts of Russian attackers, in suicidal assaults - very 1941.
The Germans have advanced to near Leningrad, Damyansk, Orel, Vorozneh, and near Rostov. Russians counter attacking in Crimea, many reserves launching general offensives.
Over all a very, very interesting game.
Interesting to see how it pans out if the winter is not too deadly for the Germans we should have a very interesting game.
I would be interested to hear what other players think of Possum 5.

during this game the 2nd panzer army hq was shattered but i cannot seem to bring it back to life despite reviving the hq it seems to have no op points ?
also the replacement levels for west and italian fronts are defaulting to zero .
any thoughts ?
i have now reinstalled possum to seee if this will make a difference to the above:(

That is no good. I think something is happening with the game as also the review Axis turns is going strange too. Perhaps reinstall wir 3.1 and Possum 5 to check we are using the same version of wir. Do you want me to send you my copy of the game so we are both using the same?

i have reinstalled possum and version 3.1 but to no avail . west and itailan hq fronts keep coming up zero replacements every turn . i have checked the other games i am playing possum with and they are ok . dont know what went wrong with our game but will continue to figth onwards :eek:

all things considered i think wir 3.1 with possum v5 is a fair game . possum v6 seems impossible to win as german :cool:

Possum 6 should be easier on the Germans as the only play ballance that changed was to move the 2 of the 3 frontline soviet HQ's back into 1st turn Panzer overrun range.......
The rest was cosmetic name changes and bug/typo fixes..

Mig 3 upgrades to La 5, so you'll need to wait a while.
