What is the longest range fighter escort the Japanese have in July of 42 and how many hexes can it reach?

A6M2 Zero Range 14 (with drop tanks) if my memory does not fail me. The second place should hold the Nick.
Hope that helps.

Depends.

If they have concentrated R&D heavily on it they could just be deploying the A6M3a with a range of 15.

If playing Realistic R&D off they could have the Ki-43-IIa (range 13) or Ki-43-IIb (range 14).

Most likely though it is the A6M2 with a range of 14 followed by the Ki-43-IIc with a range of 12.

These are extended ranges with drop tanks.

The info, taking into account the status of the R & D conducted by the opponent, is found in the ingame aircraft database.

They might also be either getting or about to get the A6M3a which goes to 15 hexes. Probably more like 8-9/42 though, even with a hard R n D push. Of course that might also depend on the scenario you're playing.

PS - Sorry. Spidery already posted this, basically.
