Mini Hofen AAR by Daz
This is my take on the Hofen Scenario.
Its not going to be as involved as the Elsenborn Ridge on I am doing, just short, and sweet, while I have some time during the Christmas break to play.

Loving it, Daz. I know this scenario very well (unlike Elsenborn). I've NEVER done that with the arty assets - lined them up along the Hockerlinie. Are you hoping they will engage tanks/men in a direct fire mode from there? And if so, have they?
During day 1 I've always slipped a Bn along the northernmost edge of the map and into the woods behind Mutzenich, to attack on day 2 from the rear (they also usually encounter one of the enemy field arty units up there, though those are well protected unit (with armour) and a dangerous proposition).
I'm very curious to see how it works out. Especially if the arty placements serve any purpose.
In RL, if I recall correctly, the VG regiments had an awful time of it, attacking across that open ground into dug in positions at Hfn sth and Nth. I think you've already got further.
Thanks again!

Yes I am hoping that they will, to take some of the pressure of the line Coy's by engaging whatever they see to their front. They have their orders set to max agro, max ammo, and max losses.
I need every infantry man I can get for the attacks on Hofen, but I didn't want to leave my rear open to attack, the depots, and the main supply line being the most important to protect in my opinion.
The other problem with this scenario is you are up against a Cav Troop, that has a lot of armour, and the only good anti-armour units in this scenario are the Artillery.
For that reason I have put a select few with good anti tank stats on the front line in a defensive role.
Artillery is very good in a defensive roll, once deployed and dug in.

Any feedback on the way I am displaying the stats would be appreciated.
Also the fronts I'm using. You may have notice I have changed it for the sitrep.
Hopefully you will find it easier to read. I don't mind constructive criticism at all, so don't worry about offending me if there is something you don't like, or find distracting.
I may ignore it mind [:D]

How many hours have you played so far Dazkaz? All that micro and MSPaint must make your head hurt haha.
Have: Socks. Deodorant. £2 gloves. Mince pies.
Want: Line formation banned until I give a specific order to use line formation. Troops that don't take lie-ins until 0800 unless ordered to never rest.
