A global war
Here is the opening screen of a Global War with advanced + options chosen.
The monitor is a 26 inch screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution. I use a reduced size Global map always present to the right in the screen and the units in hex form on the upper right. The units in hex form displays all units in a hex or port when the mouse is over it. Clicking on a space on the Global Map instantly shifts the screen to center on that location.
The small number over the top of the units shown on the map indicates how many units are in the hex.

Japan takes a combined action to send troops to China. The Transports and their cargoes are visible in the units in hex form, (I had the cursor over the ships in the China Sea 3 box where they are located but only shown as a stack of units).

This shows an Italian saved oil in Libya from the initial setup. A mistake during the setup, it should have been saved in Italy where it is not so vulnerable to enemy forces or cutoff and rendered unusable. One has to be very careful when setting up the forces.

RE: A global war
Japan will strategically bomb Kweiyang in China in order to reduce the Chinese builds. The plane is in Canton with a range of 14 and could also reach Chungking which has 2 factories instead of just 1 in Kweyyang but there is an antiaircraft gun in Chungking. The plane is not visible in Canton but just clicking on the plane symbol shown in the left hand column activates it and it moves with the cursor. If you click on the white space to the right of the plane the game will first go to Canton where the plane is located Here you can also see a number of the Chinese defending troops.
The strike die roll was a 7, enough to reduce the Chinse build by 1 production point.

Germany has moved it's units on the Polish front to attack and the attacks are shown. The Polish ships in Danzig were overrun by German land units, the convoy escaped and is now disorganized in port in England. the 2 German convoy counters shown in the units in hex form are in the Baltic. Japan has no attacks this impulse, it took a combined impulse and could only move 3 land units.

RE: A global war
For those reading who are new to the game:
(1) In a ground strike mission, the bombing unit "rolls a die", which generates an integer result between 1 and 10 (inclusive) per unit attacked.
(2) If the result is less than or equal to the bombing unit's tactical bombing rating (which, for the German unit bombing Warsaw, is 5 - the number in the bottom left corner of the counter), the defending unit is disorganized.
(3) Under certain circumstances, the bombing unit gets to "roll two dice", essentially getting two opportunities to bomb a unit.
(4) One of those circumstances - surprise - is in effect now, during the first impulse of Germany's attack on Poland. To whit, any time a major power declares war on someone else, the "victim" of the attack is surprised for the aggressor's first impulse, granting the aggressor some advantages and imposing some penalties on the defender's ability to react to events.

RE: A global war
The German attacks have been declared and are ready to fight. Shown is the attack on Poznan. The defender has the choice of combat type, assault or blitz, since it is a city. In the attack also shown on Poland the attacked has the choice of combat type since they have armor included in clear terrain. The attack odds improves in an armor attack with a blitz bonus, shown as the one with the B number.

RE: A global war
The attack on Krakow had odds of +16 but the city reduced by one to 15. The die roll was a 6 for a total of 21. Per the 2D10 combat tables that killed the defending unit but it also caused two of the attacking units to be disorganized. Now i have to designate which two will be disorganized and also which two units to advance into Krakow.
The disorganized units are done for this turn.

Here is the situation after all the attacks have been completed and the Germans have advanced. In the air rebase phase starting now, the German will rebase the bomber east of Berlin to the west front. The two polish units in Lodz has one unit disorganized which helps the attacker get a stronger attack in the next Axis impulse.

RE: A global war
The first Axis impulse has been completed, CW and France have declared war on Germany and the US entry rolls have been made causing the USA to lose one entry chit. The reserve units have been placed and France is taking a combined action in this second impulse of the turn. The units in hex form shows the units in Metz.

RE: A global war
I think what Lars means is that in the reorganization phase, which is coming next, he will reorganize the two Stuka so Germany can get better odds on Lodz next turn.ORIGINAL: composer99

As someone who referred to Switzerland as Sweden and an anti-tank unit as an anti-aircraft unit in the tutorial videos, these kinds of mix-ups are very familiar.[:D]

RE: A global war
The Cw starts it's surprise impulse with a port attack on Kiel. The German fleet AA fire is halved due to the surprise but is still enough to deflect some or the CW attack strength. Germany rolled a 3 so the CW has only 6 surprise points to allocate. It will take four of them to guarantee at least some damage to the German fleet. those four points will reduce the AA fire to no effect on the CW plane but there will only be 2 points left to increase the CW attack and it is assigned to do that.
In the end there were only 2 German ships disorganized.
