Just installed Shadows, now it won't start

So I picked up DW and the first two expansions the other day, and promptly got hooked.

Decided to pick Shadows this AM, installed it, and now it hangs on the autorun screen. It doesn't freeze my computer and there aren't any error messages or anything, the game just won't load.

I first figured that it might be because I had the Graphics Enhancement Mod, and the resource mod installed so I deleted the game and did a fresh install of all 4 programs. Still no luck.

For reference I have:
Windows 7 home premium (64 bit)
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.5 ghrz
4 gigs ram
GeForce GTS 250

*edit* I also downloaded the 1.9.0.11 update. Still no luck.

it's definitely something weird going on with Shadows.

I reinstalled up to Legends and it works fine.

Also updated my video card drivers.

Try running the exe directly.

The big difference between Legends and Shadow are the .NET.
Did you install that correct?

And did you read the thread Distant Worlds: Shadows ?

So I've run the exe directly, installed .net (from the redistributable directory).

Didn't work so I used the cleanup tool to completely uninstall .net and installed it again. Still no luck.

son of a... Ok, problem officially exists between the keyboard and chair.

all, I had to do, literally all I had to do was tell it to run in administrator mode... Mother fuu

Anyhow... it's working now...
