Here is a list of bugs still affecting players after the last patch; CC: The Longest Day Public Beta v5.50.14b http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3060832

- 0:00 timer sometimes causes a crash
- Air support sometimes causes a crash; example report http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3187893
- A.I.'s inability to properly assign support to BG's that are in Battle,Moving into Battle and instead assigning it to BG's that will never see battle and in some cases assigning multiple support options http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2813343&mpage=3&key=�
- Pegasus bridge does not allow vehicles to move on it; problem started after new path finding AI was implemented, discussion here http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2931150
- Troops (usually Allied on beach) sometimes do not advance/attack/move until shot at; seems to have started after the last patch
- Windows 8 requires Windowed Mode (can't run full screen); couple reports here http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3279021

These bugs should be addressed as the crashes are extremely annoying (especially H2H when you have to re-fight battles) for the players that have bought TLD/WAR/LSA (PiTF? the last patch had an air support fix which may have resolved that issue) and for potential new buyers of the announced newer releases; Close Combat - Gateway to Caen and Close Combat – The Bloody First.

Matrix development should make eliminating the above bugs a priority before adding new features/selling new releases....

Any update Matrix on when these long outstanding bugs will be addressed???

Might be good to do that before asking people to buy a new CC engine with all new bugs as it will show them Matrix will fix./support the products it sells....

I do not have a date I can give you at this time. I would not expect any updates to older games until after The Bloody First is released.

Added this bug from the WAR support forum as it also impacts TLD.

Note: the TLD issues reported earlier in this thread are also in WAR (except Pegasus bridge as that is a specific map issue but the same issue could happen on any map with thin bridges in either game)

Any ETA?

Perhaps not, but I give them credit for at least replying and taking an interest in your findings...especially since it is an "older game". I don't remember anything of the sort with the original release...after a year they were released the dev team basically moved on to different projects.

Also this one, like LSA, this game is wonderful but deserves an update to fix these outstanding bugs. The loyal fanbase deserves it as well!

2.0 years now since the initial confirmation... Come on Matrix, just dedicate a little resources towards this... Get some interns, if needed :).

Maybe you can use the TLD Classic mod and CC4 Classic with WAR? Then you can pitch your CC4 and CC5 games. I gave mine away.

Don't use the timer. It is more fun without it.

Can't say that I have encountered the Air Support bug, but I don't get around to WAR that much anymore. Still busy with CCMT.

In the old days, we never expected these game titles to last more than a few years.

But Matrix changed all that. And now the games sometimes last a decade.

I opted for WAR, not TLD. WAR has been a lot of fun, especially CC4 Classic.

I do use WAR/TLD/LSA now, for the mods, that is why I keep poking Matrix about the outstanding bugs. They could be playable/sellable for years if Matrix actually dealt with them....

I do not use CC3 to 5 anymore. They worked fairly well for 10 years, with some bugs, but with Windows 8 & 10 are becoming troublesome; no full screen, scroll speed and crashes/freezes (most likely the newer nvidia drivers).

Kinda wished I stayed with Windows 7 as all the above games work better on it than 8 & 10.

Was it really Matrix? Microsoft made Windows and DirectX backwards compatible for years which allowed old games to be run for years. The original CC games from Atomic, the code that is the core to all the Matrix releases, still works today 15 years after their final game CC5. With Windows 8 & 10 Microsoft dropped some of the backwards compatibility and only the last 2 Matrix CC releases work full screen. Thus Matrix knows how to fix the older games but is NOT doing it for current owners or new buyers as they continue selling them all....
