Tired of resources not going where they are needed I experimented by puting mining equipment and storage on an escort. Seemed to work fine until I got to the piont of unloading it. I can find no way to so. Any one else tried it?

Well, you could try putting docking bays on the escort and see if you can get the freighters to do the actual transporting for you.

EDIT: That is mine it and then move to your destination and sit around and see if a freighter will do it for you.

IIRC you fit the components and then click on the planet and the ship will mine it till full then empty itself at the nearest space port, the emptying of the ship is auto, you can not empty it yourself.

I suspect you have hit the nail on the head. No docking bay. I'll try it thanks.
