A few years ago, I put some extensive work into diagramming just how a pure armor unit attacks in the game. Many were confused by the severe loss in motorized support by the attacking unit brought about by these attacks. Unfortunately, the devs for some reason refused to sticky my work and I had thought it was lost forever. I recently rediscovered my diagram and am now posting it again for those who requested it, and of course for the new players who we all have an obligation to help out.

I ask nothing in return for my research and efforts. I do it for the love of the game.

C'mon CRSutton. Don't take it so literally. Let's kick back, relax and lance a few CAs for heaven's sake.

This of course is ridiculous. Any US Cavalry man will be able to tell you your form the wagons into a circle and fire from inside it.

Surely the jeep should be leading, preferably packed full of senior officers?

Did you read Gen. Mellenthin's account of the German attack on Tobruk (or El Alemein, don't remember) where the charge was led by a series of squad cars carrying first the leading (Brigadier?) and then a succession of the top officers all the way down to a lieutenant (IIRC), each staff car being blown up one after the other?

AH! Now I get it! Armor units with native infantry squads in the ToE use motor support to get them to the front. They just forget to get out. Makes sense now.
