Scourge of War: Gettysburg Wallpaper!

Post by Philkian »

It began as a skirmish but by its climax involved 160,000 Americans. It became the most famous battle of the Civil War. It took three days of bloody fighting under the burning July sun to imprint a small town in Pennsylvania—Gettysburg—on the American psyche forever.

Known as the turning point of the Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg culminated on the 3rd of July with Pickett's Charge, a dramatic assault by 12,500 Confederates on the Union line at Cemetery Ridge. The charge was repulsed by Union rifle and artillery fire, at crushing loss to the Confederate army. After the battle, General Lee led his beaten army on a torturous retreat back to Virginia.

Today, exactly 150 years after that historic day, Matrix Games and NorbSoftDev (www.norbsoftdev.net) want to commemorate the Anniversary with gorgeous wallpapers taken from the Scourge of War: Gettysburg box art, painted by Don Troiani.

In the .zip file you are going to find different sizes of the image, so you will be able to choose the perfect one for your desktop. The file can be downloaded HERE.
