My ship is repairing the destroyer but it's slowly floating away from it.




This is 1.9.0.1.

The ship seems to have attached to the near planet and not the actual ship.The ship is following the planat while still repairing the destroyer.

Thanks, I've seen this but we've been unable to duplicate it to capture the issue. If you can get a save file from right before the construction ship "docks" to start the repair, that would be extremely useful in fixing this.

It's simple enough to reproduce.
  • Generate random map of choice.
  • Poke around the asteroid fields for a derelict.
  • Select constructor from outside the system (not necessary, but if it is close enough, it will "lock on" correctly), click on derelict.
  • Increase time, watch as they slowly float apart.

Issue applies to all versions of DW.

Some more bugs.I am being asked to stop protection treaties by advisers with pirates that I have no treaty with..I am also getting the meet new empire event with pirates I already met.

Balance issue.With all the pirate killing in Shadows every empire races reputation is noble it seems.Reputation buffs from pirate killing needs to be greatly toned down.

Save files please - no matter how easy it may seem to duplicate issues, it saves us a huge amount of time if you can upload a save file that shows the issue in action. We have a lot on our plates just now.

FYI the Reputation bonus was toned down and I have not see all races at Noble during my tests. Could use a save for that too.

I only have one game which is far in, as a pirate, and I'm not seeing purely Noble reputations. There are a few, but mostly it's just Respectable.

I reloaded a save I was going to prepare and the adviser and new empire event bug and cant reproduce it.I was wrong about pirate protection because they have been given less than 1k which is not enough to be shown on the budget.

I am heroic and have 2 nobles,8 admired,2 respectable out of 14 empire races.You rarely see bad reputation in the game anymore even in Legends and more pirates had made this even worse.

I have an achievement show up with a assassin medal with 0 eliminated show up.

Yeah, some more personality, or at least some more defined existing personalities, would be nice. It's been a while since I looked through all the races, but I'd say at least a fourth of the total should be 'evil' empires who don't hesitate with bombing planets and whatnot. I think there's just like 2 or 3?

I modded all the races in legends to bombard and it still have minor effect because of mainly pirates and too fast reputation recovery.

Hmm, that's not good.

Perhaps it would be better to completely remove the reputation boost from killing pirates. Or at least limiting it to destroying pirate bases. Defending yourself from pirates is hardly a 'noble achievement' I'd say, it's more of a necessity.

Hey Erik. Same exact problem here. This happened to me on Friday but I went away for the weekend and didn't remember until I got back and read ASHBERY76's post. Luckly I have a save just as the ships are about to dock. The save has already been uploaded. It is called "threedeesix 1.9.0.0 Drifting Construction Ship (Bilgaruth Wayfarer)".

Here is a picture taken just after the save showing the ships drifting apart. Again, very similar to ASHBERY's situation.

My save is 1.9.0.0

Another older Legends bug is also back.The A.I is not obsoleting old designs so you get a long list of like 10 cruisers,capital,etc ship designs hogging up the design UI screen.

Happens to me too (the ship doesn't follow the planet anymore). It turns out the ship isn't "discovered" by a scout. The destroyer will never be repaired no matter how long you let the constructor run. Eventually my scouts fly by and suddenly the ship becomes mine. Don't try to repair it.

DWS-1901-floater.rar
Two save files in the archive. First is when the construction ship is out of warp and moving to the derelict to repair. Second is slightly later showing the construction ship stationary while the derelict is locked to the planet and moving away.

I've been repairing the destroyer (even though the constructor does drift away) and it does eventually repair, plus you get a small research bonus while it's being repaired. I just opened an old saved game from before I began repairing it, and tried to discover it by moving a scout to it. The scout did not discover it - it's strange. Someone sent the devs a save file on it, so hopefully the devs will figure it out.

This happens in every game with AI designer. You can look at any of my latest saves on the other folder to see it. I think what happens is that the AI designer does not obsolete designs that are not buildable.

Have an AI designed game played for a while. Checking this before capitals are available may be an idea. Open "All designs" and sort them on sub role. A whole lot of non-obsolete capital designs are found. In one save I have a whole lot of obsoleted cruiser designs, that may be because I obsoleted them manually because they annoyed me ;-) They still stand out, though, since there is a whole lot of obsolete cruiser designs, but a limited number of designs for other classes.

Limiting to the spaceports would make better balance.I have literally killed 100's of escort,frigates pirate ships in Shadows as they are relentless..Pirate farming is just making this reputation mechanic pointless and I cannot even house rule it because the A.I will not.

I am finding another issue not so much a bug but a game logic failing.Pirate raiders cancels protection treaty to I presume attack me in a early pre warp game.I then offer another protection treaty they agree and then they cancel again shorty.It goes into a continues loop of that action.
