Looking for Thousand-mile PBEM opponent (closed)

Post by GaryChildress »

It's been forever since I last played WITP and this will be my first serious go at AE. I'm in the mood for something short and easy so I can get a little accustomed to the new features in AE. Ideally I want to get into as much detail as possible without being overwhelmed by micromanaging 10 thousand ships, LCUs, and Airgroups. I want to play around with search arcs, training levels, leaders and all the little things. I figure this can best be done with a very short and small scale scenario. Therefore I'd like to play the 1000 mile war scenario because I think it will be an ideal primer where I can manage all the tiniest details of my forces and not take over 12 hours to finish a single turn.

Anyone game for a quick and easy scenario?

Having been so long since I last played and having never seriously played AE I would probably rate myself somewhere below intermediate but above beginner. And I'm certainly no Erwin Rommel when it comes to strategy.

I can do probably at least 1 turn a day, maybe more.

I don't care which side I play. I'll take Japanese, Allies or Eskimos.

Obviously historical 1st turn will be turned off and 1 day turns are a must. Other than that I reckon most of the game settings are negotiable.

I'm thinking I may even do a niftly little AAR for the game just for fun.

Thanks for any offers. [:)]

Send me a PM and we'll discuss versions & patches, etc. I don't care which side either, though I've played the IJ only in Coral Sea vs. AI.

Thank you for the interest! Not sure who to go with but since HexHead was first I guess it's only fair to give you first dibbs. I'll put together a PM to discuss the details shortly.
