One of the ideas in the game is( I guessing) the possibility to send newly built units to the front and reinforce adjacent front line unit. But as it only possible to reinforce same size (div to div, corp to corp) is not really an option. Especially for German in foreign areas. As UK can reinforce full in France and the desert ( egypt anyway) and russia all the way to the polish border the Germans need to move both ground units and air units back to own territory to do the same.

So my request is that letting reinforcement be limited only by type not by size to remidy this problem

So you would like to have possibility to merge divisions and corps?

Yes. My reason is this, key to win fights is corps and divisions is just for support and holding terrain. To get reinforcement to the front especially outside your own borders is slow so the division reinforcement is the only way to keep up with the enemy reinforcement capabilities in own territory if this size less merger was allowed. To be forced to send a Corp back to home territory for reinforcement takes to long time. Travel,reinforce and travel back. And the back in action makes you loose the war on that front when the defender is reinforced full (even when adjacent to the enemy)and can even defend in the same turn as it is reinforced.

Other method could be copied from the old Panzer General where reinforcement amount is decreased for each enemy unit adjacent to it. So if its too damaged you either pull it back or being killed eventually. Taking to much effort to kill of enemies like russia got plentifull reinforcement power.
Sorry if I cant be clearer but this is usually the reason I loose against human oponent. To unbalanced reinforcement rules.

I find having to send units back to home territory for full reinforcement and/or upgrade makes things difficult, but perhaps more realistic. The good thing about this game is that is is so easily adjusted, or modified, so I wouldn't want to stop other players having any modifications they want, but leave an option to keep the present arrangements for those who want that.

Didn't all combatants have real problems with replacing lost men/units, so that often a unit that started as a Brigade was little more than a large battalion, although still listed as a Brigade on the TOE? I feel the TOF system makes for some seriously tough choices, as it stands now, with regard to reinforcements/replacements.
