ARD has only one use really

it is a (slow) moving dry dock; used specifically to repair flood damage

park it in your safest forward area base

"Only to repair flood damage" one should add.

EDIT: Jorge, this is for us non-native speakers and is not meant to criticise your expression.

These vessels provide a great advantage to the front line areas. For small floatation damage they are just the ticket. Put them as far forward as you dare. I took great pains to evacuate the Dutch ARDs and they have become very handy in Aussie land. The ones on the west coast of the USA should be moved westward as soon as the game starts as they are very slow, but will get there eventually. But you should not station them without support, including an AD and AS. And of course a fair amount of protection!

Dont forget they will also need to travel with ship(s) that can refuel them enroute, I use xAKs with high endurance.

I use them with great success in my forward submarine bases (Darwin (evacuated Dutch ones), Midway and Adak I.)

I don't remember seeing a Dutch ARD. They had a couple of small AR's class ships but no docks. The only ARD's I've seen are on the WC where I keep them since they take forever to get anywhere else. Is this a mod?

not in stock, they appear in the DBB and RA varients.

I always move them to a base close to the front. they do take so time to get they, but worth the wait.

ARDs are great. One thing to keep in mind is that they have to be at zero damage to work, and sometimes the slow trip over gives them "1 major" damage in the engine or something and you'll need an AR to fix that before the ARD can start removing flotation damage. Thus, I'd recommend pairing them with at least 1 AR.

DBB has the ARD Dewey in Manila and some useful ARDs starting in Java, which I try to get to Perth ASAP.

Cheers,
CC
