Questions about support

Post by schascha »

I found tow different numbers for the same unit:

Image

What is the difference between ?

How to increase the first one ?

Which one is important for this rule ?


The unit is in a very good supply and support situation and its morale is less than 75.

What means "very good" dark green or light green ??

Thx by advance for your reply [&o]

Actual lists RDY + DAM from the first screen, so it's ok (774+5=779)
As for the Support/Need it shows that you got almost a 100 more from the HQ (866 total) to ease the problem of really needed support (1226).

You got this corps from merging 3 rifle divisions (my guess). Your support "on hand" will go down even further, as now you have 124% of TOE assigned number. The only way to get more from the HQ is to make sure it doesn't have a lot of units attached (they have 500 support squads to divide between all their subortinate units). This is impossible for a fully loaded army, as most of Soviet units have very little intrisinc support and all are below "need". Alternatively, you can reduce MAX TOE for all assigned units, smaller ones need less support. Or just live with it, and accept higher wear & tear losses.

Check my TOE Overview report to find out how little every unit has.

edit: you can try to mitigate problems by choosing units with better intrisinc support (for example 120mm Mortar Regt over 120mm Mortar Bn - each has 36 mortars, but the Bn drains a lot more support from HQ).

Some soviet units show more support available than they have support squads, this should only happen if in HQ range during the logistic phase. This may just be a display bug (additional HQ support not cleared at the end of logistics).
This is only seen for the soviet player, I haven't seen it for Axis yet.

Axis units have usually 120% of needed support provided by TOE (so they will have Support==Need). Soviets have to rely on support squads provided by HQs. This is shown on purpose and it is a good thing if you see more support squads in the "Support/Need" field, than your unit has itself.

Thx for the reply

But this default of support would affect the chances of my units to gain morale ??

I don't think support affects morale gain.

I refere to this rule:
The unit is in a very good supply and support situation and its morale is less than 75. If Die (75) is greater than the unit's morale than a gain for this situation is possible.

And I would like to know what means exactly means very good supply ?? > 85% or what ??

One more question.

The lack of supports, may it influence the result of the combats and if yes in which % ??
