It has come to my attention that John III turned 47 today. The poor ol' guy isn't nearly as supple and winsome (in a modest yet alluring way) as his opponent, so please find it in your heart to wish him a happy day with many returns.

This was the birthday celebration at John's house this morning:

"Here's your present, John," Paula said while handing him an exquisitly wrapped package.

<sound of paper being ripped away exhuberantly>

"Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!" John exlaims upon finding inside first edition sets of Shattered Sword and 35,565 Ways to Decorate Your Caboose.

Happy Birthday, you young rapscallion! (Just don't celebrate by taking advantage of your modest but uncommonly alluring opponent.)

Happy birthday, John III, you young whippersnapper, don't do anything I used to be able to do at your age.

And do you realize there is more than one meaning in that phrase?

If one were "commonly alluring" one would be . . . alluring. "Uncommonly" perhaps not so much. Maybe "excessively alluring" would go where you drove?

I don't know, from what I've seen Poultry Lad sets a pretty low bar.

Happy Birthday, old man!

I'm just curious how I wound up as the butt of these homophilic jokes. I'd like to put an end to them.

@CR - Your post about alluring cabooses was wonderfully tongue in cheek!

Happy Bday!

May your bombs, torpedoes and shells find their mark, unless it's against me of course.

Thanks Guys!

We had a nice day. The GREAT Southern Paddler was frightening in his prediction. My B-Day present from paula was a beautiful Adlake Switch Stand Lantern that goes atop one of our two Switches next to the Caboose. SCARY that Dan would KNOW this. Are they in some sort of conspiracy? Went to a Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse for lunch/dinner and that was the extent of our excitement.

Just want to thank my long-term opponent and the members of our esteemed Forum for all the help, support during a couple dark years, input, passionate arguments, and fantastic friendships over the years.

Warmly,
John
