So I submitted a support ticket but I don't know the average time for them to get back to me and I'm more than a bit frustrated right now.

I just caved and bought Forge of Freedom since it's down to $20 now. Well, the Plimus download is giving me a 4 kb download that is telling me it won't work in 64-bit Windows.

But I've read threads saying that it works fine in 64-bit versions of Windows. Is the download broken? Is the game always like that?

I just purchased the game some ten minutes ago and have run into exactly the same issue. I'm glad it's not just me, but obviously, it's a touch frustrating. I take it you're receiving the same error message that I am?


Error Message Follows:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

Yep. Exact same one. Some recommended to me that I change it to a .txt file and see what it said (apparently there's an error that makes an exe's only data some sort of error message) and all it had in it was the file name. None of the usual odd characters that show up. Odd. Definitely seems broken.

I just submitted an official ticket, then. I was hoping to binge out on the game over the course of this weekend but I suppose I'll have to wait. Best of luck to you Johnki, please let me know via this thread if you find a working solution in the meantime. I will do likewise.

The game is running fine on my Windows 7 64bit, though i'd bought it while on XP 32bit.

Yep, same problem for me with downloading.. win 7 64bit

Just received a ticket from slitherine..not sure how long it will take.. Damn yankees will have to wait to have their AI butt whupped I guess.

If I hear anything will post results on here.

Those who are having issues with the download of Forge of Freedom, please just open a a helpdesk support ticket or mail to support[at]slitherine.co.uk.

We're investigating right now - it looks like the store broke something in the middle of the sale. Great timing, apologies to all for the inconvenience. We will make sure this is resolved ASAP and that everyone who ordered gets a new working download link. I have no ETA on that yet, but we are working on it.
