Here is the situation
But seems to many AA for a Motorised flak battalion, has the unit pulled down extra AA from Army HQ which has plenty?

OK let me put it this way,
The German 217 infantry division could draw flak support units from its immediate HQ 26th corps OK so far. (except of course there are no flak support units in 26th corps!)
But can it draw support ie flak units from 26th corps HQ, 18th army? (otherwise where did the extra flak come from, ie the 77 '20mm anti-aircraft guns')

Do you have a save from the turn before this happens?

You can post it here as an attachment, just rename it to .zip, or you can send it to 2by3 "at" 2by3games.com.

I was able to run the first attack and get the flak battalion from Army level to commit to the battle by units attached directly to a corps HQ. This surprised me. I mentioned it to Gary and it surprised him as well. Is this something that is only happening to flak, or are other types of support units helping out from Corps level? There may be some proximity rules that allow units up the chain to help out if very close to the units. Gary doesn't remember any of this as it hasn't been worked on in years. It would help to know if this is something that is only happening to flak, or if it can happen with any support unit. Thanks.

I think its normal for SU's from Army HQ to support Corp HQ if withen 5 hexes of battle. Even AGN HQ's. This goes for both sides.

As I attach AA Regiments to Armies its normal for 100's of AA per battle to show in LW list.

The units show up under LW as simply AA guns no unit taggged to them, but you will find the "units" attached to divisions, Corp or Army.

So it's not just flak support units?

Hi Joel

For my part I have only noticed it with Flak, but then again I havnt been looking for other unit types either.
I confirm Peltons comments Ive only noticed it when close to Army HQ.

yes another reason why deleteing Corp is so important for GHC.

Gun units do same thing. Always have did not kow it was a big deal, but the units have to be close.

You can probably do it with Stavka and OKH. I never tried it but in some games I see SHC players with Stavka very close to front. Routed them a few times hehe.
