Its will be a busy year for me and a lot of great strategy games coming up this year. The last time I check it was officers. So any news on the front?

Not much to report. Vic had stated earlier that he was hoping to release a version of ATG with a "model your own tank" feature by Easter. Don't know if that is still on schedule. I believe he is also working on a partial screen loading issue for Windows 8 users. It is one of those intermittent type issues affecting some Win8 users more than others.

There was much discussion about guerrilla and cavalry units in the forum. See the thread titled "Guerrillas." Don't know if Vic plans any refinements to either unit type or not.

I mean, if I understand Vic's intentions correctly, is that you will be able to create (research/design/manufacture) your own tanks (armor thickness, gun caliber, etc.). Vic would need to confirm this and specify the details. I'm just hoping he is able to introduce this new feature on or about the time he thought he would have it ready for public beta.

See this post by Vic.

I do wish for more guerilla units and some special ops units. Hopefully Vic will make a game that would encompass WWI to WWII techs or even WWI to lets say more modern techs. Will pop in here from time to time to check on the progress of this game.

Any official patches with the officers yet?

I can't seem to update to 2.14.

Tried manually, downloading then opening in the correct file.
Tried the using the ATG link on starting the game.

No luck both ways.
BTW not the first game I've updated, nor the first AT/ATG version that I've updated. Maybe I am getting too old to play games.

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/AdvancedTacticsGold/AdvancedTacticsGold-Update-v214.zip

After your have downloaded the ZIP file, extract the EXE file to your desktop and double click on it. It will then update your ATG (have your serial number handy).

You cannot use the in game "install zip file" option if that is what you tried to do.

Webizen I followed your advice. After installing it says I have the 2.14 version, but on opening the game 2.12 still shows up in the corner. And starting the new 1938 game, I get the info that I am still running version 2.12.

I might just have to uninstall ATG and try to install from scratch.

I see 2.14 on my screen. Unless the download has been changed since I downloaded it, the only logical explanation is that you have ATG installed into two different locations. If that isn't the case then it is unclear to me what is causing your issue.

Reinstalling seems to have solved the problem, no idea what was wrong.

@Webizen thankyou for your help

The design your own equipment feature is still something i really want to try out with ATG. However easter is going to be impossible. I think i might indeed narrow this feature down to design your own tank to save some time. I cannot give an ETA but will try to get an early public beta out in the upcomming months.

best,
Vic
