Just sent out an email to everyone participating, with their expected start country. Nobody wanted to play USA/China or Germany/Italy... as a first priority anyway.. so i think Bombur and I will have to fight over who plays what :)

The victory conditions are part of the briefing :) You can see them before you start the game or in game under brief. If you can´t remember which one you chose they are visible in the diplomacy map, where you can see resources.

Here you see where you can see these victory conditions in-game:

Choosing the strategic map, in-game, allows you to see which Victory condition you have chosen earlier with a regime. It will show up only for the Regime you are playing and none others. So:

1). select the strategic map.
2). select your nation (in this case germany)
3). select resources.
4). Look at the number next to Victor

Hi Ernie,

Nice job. How did you manage to do the briefing screen, with the multiple tabs, in the editor?

Cheers,
Lancer

Hi Lancer,

The multiple tabs are done with tags. They are [tab]title, body text[/tab] in format.

That is you write [tab] then the title followed by a comma. then what you want to write in that tab. At the end of the text write [/tab].

I saw this first time in the Lord of the Rings scenario, and learned from that.

question, does the manpower pool increase each turn, not counting what you have spent building units and such?

Used too. Haven't run through a turn yet to tell you if it still does. Each Country had a different level of manpower and it could increase with conquests.

Sorry, manpower still works like it used to.

That is a fixed amount for each country, and nothing extra for conquests. I could implement it though... although it would take a few lines of code, or at least adding to an existing stringlist.

Hi Ernie,

O.K, good to know.

Could you enlighten me on how do you do this in the first place? Eg. What function handles this?

Cheers,
Lancer

Hi lancer,

No function. You do it in the scenario description, that the is found under Setng. Of course you could do it in a message, i think... I never tried that, but in theory it should be possible.

EDIT: Just tested it in an ExecMessage ... it seemed to work, but... when i viewed the message it didn´t. However it would work to modify scenario descriptions.

It most likely won´t run out. It is set very high, considering all things, I think, in fact I was considering making them less.

As for how it works: You start out with a pool of manpower, that you deplete over time, with the purchase of infantry formations. Each turn an amount is added to that number, and I will be honest and say i cannot remember how much for each regime.

When you run out, you cannot produce infantry formations.

so a certain amount is added back into the manpower, not like you have it set in mine; correct.

The starting manpower, and increase each turn is as follows:

Germany: 2000/160
Italy: 1000/40
Japan: 1000/100
Soviet Union: 4000/300
France: 1000/40
Great Britain: 2000/100
United States: 2000/150
China: 20000/500

Thanks. Doesn't appear to work for random games, only scenarios.

too bad really ... oh well...

Have you tried ExecMessage (someregime, -1, 0, -1) ?

I mean it might be possible that way to change the scenario description for a random game, so that it has tabs....

Sounds like a corrupted download. I'd recommend downloading it again. It worked perfectly for me.

Thanks Webizen. Worked for me. Too bad, that this is not playable against the AI. I think, that real good scenarios for AI-playing are really missing for AT2.

You are playing the Soviets. They have the I-15 type 5 as their own kind of Fighter I, and the I-15 type 10 as their own kind Fighter II. The generic fighter I and II are replaced by these, for the purposes of your production. You will find that there are many kinds of specialized SFTs for each regime.

For instance, I as Germany can only produce BF-109Ds, which are my Fighter IIIs, and i start out with BF-109Cs which are my Fighter IIs.

The best way to learn what is what is simply to read the SFT descriptions of each of the SFTs and then note down what is what.

And yes, you cannot upgrade your fighters ... i believe the only thing that is upgradable is infantry subformations, and some of those cannot either...

As GB, I could make Hurrican I but not Spitfire I, and I can research generic fighters IV I think but I cannot really know right now how good each of these is. Is it a general guideline that the specific units are better in characteristics than the generic ones ?

As France, I noticed that I have the D520 but I can also upgrade to generic Fighter III's I think, (or maybe II's) which makes me wonder which is better.

Hmmmm....you shouldn´t have the D-520 unless you researched fighter III. D-520´s were also supposed not to upgrade. I will check these features, it might be a bug. Keep your D-520, you get nothing by building Fighter III´s.

Looked at the scenario and it is ok. Maybe I should make the D-520 somewhat more expensive, it´s much better than the MS.406.
Ernie, I´m having some new ideas on new stuff. Tell me when I can add new hardware (must take care with memory, however). People who want to have a new SFT´s could place their requests here.

My last ideas

-Beaufighter VI (Naval bomber II for GB)
-Sea Mosquito (Naval bomber III for GB)
-Type 89 (I always forget to include this tank for Japan)

The Hurricanes (Fighter III) is kept in production along with the Spitifire to simulate the fact that the former was an inferior fighter but was also cheaper, so both planes fought the BoB. After 1941, however, the Hurricane started to be used more as a fighter bomber (to be implemented latter)
