I'm at work and can't recall correctly - but is there anyway to distinguish between units that can provide smoke an those that cannot without clicking on them? Seemingly, with the non persistent APs, I click on a unit and realise it cannot provide smoke and if I move off it, it's regarded as having been activated.

I'm not 100% on that - but last time I played I'm pretty sure (in Monsters I think) that I clicked a unit and it couldn't provide smoke - and my only options were to fire, move, wait or finish the turn for it....

A point in the right direction would be appreciated - and if you can't then a popup when hovering showing any special abilities would be appreciated in the future (if not already there and I'm too dumb to spot them)

Yeah, I don't think there is a way to do this.
