Hrm, everything I've found via Google says to not follow my prior suggestion. I've done it in the past, but I've always had the installer files on hand to put them back if my problem wasn't fixed or was made worse or a new one came up. (I know they're supposed to run side by side, but there seemed to be a problem within the game I was trying to run that caused it to call the 2010 version of a function instead of the intended 2008 version; removing the 2010 fixed this problem, but would break anything that required 2010).

If you go into Windows Update, does it show any updates for Visual C++? If so, you should install them (though it looks like you may have already).


Apologies for the lack of coherence in this post, it's been a long day at work.

Thats ok.

Yes I looked at windows updates and I dont have any new updates. Looks like I may have make sure I save before the 5th turn

I haven't tried the game out on my pc yet. But I did want to be able to play it when away or when im confined to bed which I am a lot. Could be something unique to Vista I suppose.

Again I appreciate everyone's help.

You can also try a fresh installation of the game, just in case. I know it's a pain, but if it fixes the problem then in my opinion it's worth it.
