I havent figured out how to post my game screens so I have just inserted the link:

I wished the manual had some condensed sections what would tell me all the things I need to know. 373 pages is too much! What happend if the Germans don't bag Moscow by December 1? I mean, the steamroller will be unleashed? is it curtains for the Germans? Has anyone bagged Moscow in '42?

Is there a strategy guide somewhere for the German player?

I feel like my losses are too high.

The northern sector seems to be doing ok. I pretty much have AGN going for Moscow also. I do not want to get bogged down at Leningrad. I want the Prize!

Your in trouble because you did not take south or Leningrad.

South is most important area for GHC, if you can take it you can hold on for a draw.

1. South
2. Leningrad
3 Moscow.

If you take Moscow and not the south you will lose. There are 2x as many manpower centers in south then around Moscow.

You do, but its turn 12 so your short on time to get to Stalino from your screen shots.

As Pelton has pointed out, you are in trouble. First of all, Leningrad, where is AGN anyway? Even if you don't prioritize Leningrad, you have to cover that area. One is securing the flank (right now you have a wide open left flank there), another is forcing the Soviets to committ forces there. I see that you have not taken Pskov. Pskov has to be reached around turn 3. In the South you normally have to cross the Dnepr and at least reach the Dnepr bend at Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhe around this turn 12. Odessa should also be taken. And what Pelton meant was Stalino not Stalingrad. Stalino is that city in the Donbass, just east of the Dnepr bend at Dnepropetrovsk. It is located where that 3 city area with Makeevka is. As for the question of whether Moscow can be taken in 41, no I don't think so. You are right now in mid September. By turn 15 mud will hit and you won't be able to move significantly until November. Then you have only 4 turns until blizzard unleashes the red hordes. Are you playing against the AI or a human player?

As for guides, just browse the War Room and AARs. They should give you plenty of help.

Thanks, I am playing agaist the AI. Still, there is more to learn about this game, because, it just seems to take lots of time to break through these red walls!

Well, I guess I am going to try once more.I see one thing I did wrong, I did not have a specific plan/ mission for AGN, AGC, and AGS. I want to give each one an overall mission and objectives. I was just trying to break through all the walls and head east toward moscow, without a clear plan for eacg AG.

Sounds like you're waking up to the commitment good play requires.

Here's some general things to look after: production/population centers, rail lines, terrain, fortifications, force structure, & opponents MLR.

There are good reasons to go to certain places & good reasons to manage your own forces.

From your first map: as SigUp mentioned you should rather hurry to do something about your northern flank or I guarantee you that even the AI will come down there in a matter of a few turns, thereby cutting your main rail/supply line. You in turn 12 ? Watch out for the mud season (=supply issues) that will hit you in turn 18.
BTW: where are your FBD's ? I count only 3.
