air patrol coverage

Post by rms1pa »

seemingly an 8 plane squadron at normal range with 20% rest will cover 120 degrees of arc am/pm. if one cuts the range of search to half normal range will the squadron then cover 240 degrees?

there is a technical term for those who confuse the opinions of an author's characters for the opinions of the author.
the term is IDIOT.

no, the arc coverage stays the same, regardless of range.

# of arcs covered depends solely on # of planes flying.

thanks, so would half normal range translate into better coverage of the search arc? fewer ops losses? less fatigue?
