I just finished Matt Chat 181: Joel Billings on Computer Bismarck and More, and it was really interesting. Thanks.

I have now watched all three of the above links, and I was very entertained. I have checked out Matt's channel and you are correct, he has some really good content. .

I loved the comparison pics he showed in the second interview when Joel was discussing the 'different' markets when asked about the graphics over content takeover in game design.

Oh, the memories! Pool of Radiance was the game that got me hooked on PC gaming and SSI was one of my favorite PC game companies.

Thanks for the links.

I miss SSI and one of the great programmers of that time Dave Landrey. I worked with Dave on a number of titles when I lived in Arizona. Ahhhh those were some great times when you used to get beta information on 3.5" floppy disks and he'd send a whole mess of them to me in the mail. Matrixgames should coax Dave back into part time programming and give him the Battles of Napoleon Black Power game or any Napoleonic game cause he would put in a randomizer and battle builder like Battles of Napoleon origional I bet. One of the best games I ever bought for sure. For back then to do all that was amazing. I'd go into the editor (one of the easiest to use too) and set the objective points and then let the AI build the rest of the battle. I cannot believe what a great job it would do. Ahhhhh the memories. I wish I was 30 again.

Also, I'm very disappointed that there aren't any or very few air war turn based wargames like that one online Blue Max or something like that? I remember an Avalon Hill air wargame Luftwaffle that was just excellent and would have liked to have seen it make it to the computer. With todays graphic technology WWI planes on a turn based map would look awesome.

Erik, Gents -

Outstanding and informative interviews. I deeply appreciate what Matt has done. My respect for Joel and 2 by 3 Games only grows as I learn more about him.

Thank you for posting the links!

Mac
