Erik is kind enough to let us put Scientific Space phenomenon on the forum.
This is the meteor in Russia.
TURN DOWN THE VOLUME... you can hear the blast, and the blast is loud.

I thought this was interesting... though had I been there...
Well

and more

Meteor was ~50 tons weight and 3 meters in diameter.

So why does the cam in the first video report 31.12.2012 as date?

Heard it was 10 tonnes.

For reference, 2012 DA14, which is the near-miss asteroid coincidentally passing by us today, is 200,000 tonnes.

Scary and fascinating. Very cool to see this occur on film. Thanks for sharing TJ.

Do you live near the area?

Thank you for sharing...

Hmmm, this information varies a lot, i see.

This is supposed to be a crater of one shard in ice of lake Chebarkul.

No, but i know some people who do.

Oops, I actually responded without noticing that you had responded in an earlier post. Your information may be more up to date than mine was. Either way, I'm sure it's pretty hard for them to accurately estimate its size. I guess they have an idea of how fast it was travelling based on the video footage (radar too?), and can estimate from that how much of it would have burned off based on its composition.

Perhaps someone did not set the date on the camera...
That is interesting...
Time warp caused by the meteor??? okay, that is nonsense...
Probably they forgot to do what I often forget to do on trap cameras... program the date.

Oh... wait... it was not a meteor at all...
Data was being chased by ehsumrell's Flagship and Data jettisoned IGard's Romulan ale... that HAS to be the explanation...
That was a Romulan ale vapor trail...
I am sure IGard will be thrilled that Data did not get the ale this time...
I solved the puzzle.
10 tons of Romulan ale jettisoned and exploded...

This is not near as big as the one in Russia, but it is fair sized...

Sorry TJ.....it wasn't me! My Flagship the SS Tension was on station in the Briar Patch on that stardate. I think you've been overcome by a Jedi mind-trick! THERE'S NO WAY Data would EVER jettison ANYONE's Romulan Ale.

Well, these weird cans were found all along the trail...
Maybe it was not Data... someone who had not aquired a taste for Romulan Ale...

Okay, on a more serious note: has anyone drank that stuff? Is it a real alcoholic beverage?

Oh, and while I am in a goofy mood, and since there are no other good forums to post this in...
Here is another space phenomenon... or is it a spacey phenomenon???
