A combat unit needs to be within both 5 hexes and 25 MP distance of its parent HQ in order to receive supply from the HQ. At the same time, an HQ needs to be within both 25 hexes and 100 MP distance of a working, connected rail-head to be able to provide supply to its constituent combat units. Failing that, a combat unit needs to be within both 25 hexes and 100 MP distance of a working, connected rail-head to be able to draw supply. A unit needs to be within 5 hexes of its HQ in order to be eligible for Support Unit commitment. A unit needs to be within 5 hexes of a Corps HQ in order to receive command-and-control benefits. A unit needs to be within 10 hexes of an Army HQ in order to receive command-and-control benefits. A unit needs to be within 45 hexes of an Army Group, Front or Military District HQ in order to receive command-and-control benefits. A unit needs to be within 90 hexes of a High Command HQ in order to receive command-and-control benefits. Note that combat units are not intended to be directly attached to Army Group, Front, MD or High Command HQs, and will suffer a penalty if they are. Note that exceeding the command range will not remove all command-and-control benefits as though it were a binary effect. Rather, the random number that needs to be rolled in order to pass a command check will increase by 1 for every hex that the command range is exceeded.
