Has there been any discussion about if WitPAE can model the situation where Japan avoids combat against either the Americans or the British and just goes after the Dutch East Indies? If I play the Japanese and prevent any aggressive actions against anyone but the Dutch, with the Americans and/or British attack me anyway? If this has been discussed here, where and when would be appreciated.

Since the British and the Dutch were already Allies fighting the Germans I think it is a stretch to think that the Brits would do nothing if the Dutch were attacked by the Japanese.

As far as the U.S. reaction is concerned, any realistic simulation would allow the U.S. to enter the war at a time and place of its own choosing rather than the other way round. The U.S. would have the initiative.

And no "simulation" would have the slightest claim to realism if the IJ Player had anything like complete knowledge of what American Forces were where, what their state of readiness was, and anything at all like knowledge of what reinforcements might be available and when. First Turn Surprise should also be a two-edged sword with the possibility existing that once the military geniuses in Japan decide to attack the U.S. that they commit their elite forces to making a surprise attack that turns out to be no surprise at all with resulting heavy and irreplaceable losses.

To actually answer the question - yes but only by making a new scenario. Taking out whole nations is quite simple using the combination of WITPLOADAE and a spreadsheet.

And if you leave all nations in there, then you're at war with all of them, no matter what you do.

You would have to take off all the units of that nation off the map at start and schedule them to show up at some future date or not at all. Same with reinforcements. The hard part would be when those troops show up. Do you wait to have them appear on Jan 1st, Feb 1st, or later?? If your playing against the AI, how do you model this??

You could probably make AI scripts similar to Quiet China (ie all ships stay in port, and all airgroups only train).

It could be also possible to put all neutral nations under Russia (if they have no fixed position), and once any of them will be attacked, whole Russia will activate.
