Does anyone use those Flak regiments attached to the German cities?

They're 60+ 88mm guns! and plenty of other guns too. Nothing compared to the puny Flak companies in the frontline HQ's.

And it's not like they're going to be of any use in Germany in 1941...

If attached to HQ/units, will the 88mm be used as artillery or antitank? Or will they be restricted to anti-air?

Interesting. If they included historical flak units but no strategic bombing it might be an aspect ready to abuse...

I have started using them and they are a big help come 1943+

Now that static mode is totally useless for both GHC and SHC I will be releasing them to OKH during 41/42 blizzard. Then putting them into Armys and Corp for the 1942 summer.

DO NOT have them in the Blizzard areas for the first winter!!!!!

I think if you can get 12 into the best infantry and PG's by June it will add allot of punch to the offensive over time.

I started doing it because static mode is now a non factor for both sides because of last logistics "fix".

I am getting 200+ 88's per battle in the hot areas of front. These are games I just started releasing them in 43, so getting into the front come June 42 will be a huge help for anyone.

Next to nothing for GHC to spend AP's on now other then a few leader changes and going from offensive to defensive set-up.

Actually, I don't even see how they can be reassigned
there is no indication of their commanding HQ to click on
or am I missing something?

Press [X] on city display next to Flak unit name. Costs 50AP though.

Best time to release them is winter 41/42 as you have nothing to spend the ap on. Leave them in OKH back in Berlin.

I did not use city flak, rather the motorized 88s in my match against TD, and I have the impression they really helped on the defense.

It seems it's impossible to attach those flak to combat units, only to HQs. Why is that?

I was thinking about combat units. I know that I can attach them to any HQ.

Right. But having 60+ 88 in a HQ to help on the defensive is quite something. Still I don't have any combat reports yet where those 88 show up.

This is a good example.

You must have armys set up right.

Leaders must all be 7 IN, 1 regiment at army lvl and 1 at Corp.

This army has 2 AA regiments at Army lvl and 1 at Corp. I only have 1 Corp in this army, the rest are under the Army HQ. You get allot more SU reactions.

I have found even when attacking a stack of 3 tank/infantry Guards Corp the enemy loses are close to 1 to 2, which normally its 1 to 1 or worse when GHC wins. In this case the attacking CV is same as defending. Causes allot of disrupted enemy units. I have to test it more, but at this point it looks like one way to at least be able to hammer back without taking silly losses even vs 1 to 1 CV odds.

really? I thought the closest to unit level the highest the chance to see a SU commited (the closest being in the actual unit which is automatic commitment)
So I thought SU in Coprs intervened more often than in Armies

How do SHC armys work?

They have no Corp HQ.

Why does it need to be 1 under CP?

@ Pelton:
It would be highly informative to watch such a battle at a high message level and to see what these flak regiments actually do in combat.
