War in the Pacific Question

Post by hph510 »

Question to War in the Pacific Players. How do I move a task force from a port to an empty hex and get the task force to remain in the hex and not automatically return to port.

One way to do it: create a Carrier, Escort Carrier, or Surface Combat TF. Find out how many hexes away from the nearest port is the hex you want to occupy. Under "Move Option", select the standoff as that many hexes, and then select "Remain On Station".

Incidentally, when I want a Surface Combat or Bombardment TF to go to a friendly port and stay there, selecting the same destination and home port will cause the TF to delay movement until the end of the turn. (Maddening if you're trying to intercept an enemy.) It's not the most convenient procedure, but the way to do it is to select the home port the same as the origin port, but use "Remain On Station". At the end of the turn, the TF can be disbanded in the destination port, and then re-constructed.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
